Cahuita Geography
Cahuita is located 43 kilometers Southeastern of Port Limon. With an extension of 1,067 hectares, the Cahuita National Park extends 14 kilometers by the coast. Compose of white sand beaches, which frame their beauty with exuberant tropical vegetation, in which we can emphasize the Coco palms characteristic of these coasts. Mangles and marshes, and their respective fauna, is part of the ecosystem. A separate universe is constituted by the coral reef, located within the Park. The marine, rich fauna in variety of forms and colors, lodges more than 35 coral species, 128 of seaweed, 44 of crustaceans and 140 of mollusks. Within this submarine landscape you can find in abundant: turtles, lobsters, Moray eel and infinity of fish. The reef covers an extension of 240 hectares around Punta Cahuita.
